After all the talk about today’s firing of Mike Brown, and the speculation of who might replace him, the Lakers still have a game to play tonight. Bernie Bickerstaff will coach the Lakers tonight, but don’t expect things to change dramatically. Bickerstaff’s biggest impact on the game will be playing time, when to make substitutions and how many minutes the starters will get. The Lakers are searching for their second win of the year in the first game of the upcoming 6-game homestand.

David Lee is one of the most underrated power forwards in the NBA. The 7-year veteran has averaged 14.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists over his career. He has some great back-to-the-basket moves and can pass ball like Pau Gasol. Pau Gasol had some interesting comments in response to the Mike Brown firing, but he needs to put the coaching problems out of his mind and play basketball. Lee has done a good job defending Gasol in the past so Gasol must have a productive game if the Lakers want to win.
If the Lakers lose, they’ll fall to 1-5 for the first time 51 years. Los Angeles is panicking, and another loss, especially at home, will put more pressure on the Lakers’ front office to hire a new head coach. The game tips-off at Staples Center at 7:30PM PT on TWC SportsNet and ESPNLA 710.Tags: Basketball, David Lee, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Lakers, Mike Brown, NBA, Pau Gasol
