Sources have reported that Dwight Howard (torn labrum) and Pau Gasol (concussion) will be out indefinitely. Howard was questionable going into last night's loss to the Denver Nuggets but Howard did start, he played 41 minutes, and he tied his career high in rebounds with 26 boards. He sprained his rotator cuff in the second half of Friday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers and aggravated it during last night's game. Howard underwent a MRI Monday morning which revealed he has suffered a torn labrum. It is unclear whether or not Howard will undergo surgery but some experts project a recovery time of four to six weeks without surgery. Howard will be reexamined next week.
Pau Gasol was also questionable entering last night's game but sustained an unrelated injury during the loss. In the fourth quarter, Pau Gasol was on the receiving end of an unintentional elbow from Javale McGee and he never returned to the game. It was confirmed after the game that Gasol sustained a concussion. Gasol is out indefinitely and will not travel to Houston or San Antonio this week.Tags: Basketball, Dwight Howard, Los Angeles, Los Angeles Lakers, NBA, Pau Gasol
